Navigating the Landscape in Breastfeeding Protection: Rights, Resilience & Regional Solidarity<\/h2>\t\t\t\t

This inaugural Southeast Asia Breastfeeding Conference (or \u2018SEA BC 2026\u2019) is organised by IBFAN SEA (International Baby Food Action Network of Southeast Asia).<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Aim:<\/strong><\/p>\n

To strengthen regional solidarity and systems in Southeast Asia to protect, promote, and support breastfeeding by navigating the full potential and ensuring effective implementation of protection, in the face of emerging digital threats, climate crises, and rights-based challenges.<\/p>\n

Note: While the conference retains its legal and policy focus on the International Code of Breast Milk Substitutes as a tool for protection, the conference title also signals our emphasis on mapping possible practical pathways, digital tools, and partnerships to operationalise those commitments.<\/p>\n

Objectives:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. To advocate for stronger regional and global policy that protect mothers, and infant and young child feeding by reinforcing and adapting the framework of the International Code of Marketing of Breast Milk Substitutes for current digital marketing landscape.<\/li>\n
  2. To build regional capacity to monitor and counter unethical digital marketing of breastmilk substitutes, particularly in online platforms, through knowledge sharing and collaborative strategies.<\/li>\n
  3. To elevate breastfeeding as a sustainable, climate-resilient practice, and integrate it into actionable disaster preparedness, environmental policy, and health resilience frameworks to support mothers and babies during crises.<\/li>\n
  4. To advocate for stronger legal protections and systemic support for breastfeeding mothers, including improved maternity protection, workplace support, and healthcare integration through ethical and conflict-free collaborations with civil society and professional networks.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
